Dan Bardell believes that West Ham will make a loss on James Ward-Prowse if they are to sell him before the 30 August transfer deadline.
The Hammers signed the 29-year-old for £30million last summer [Sky Sports] but he now appears to have one foot out the door already.
This comes after a report from talkSPORT on 27 August suggesting that the midfielder’s representatives have been in contact with other Premier League clubs over a potential transfer.
Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell can’t see the Irons making a profit on the ex-England international before the window slams shut.
Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, Bardell said: “I’d think they’ll be selling him at a loss. Lopetegui has obviously seen something he doesn’t quite fancy.
West Ham to make loss on James Ward-Prowse
Ward-Prowse has struggled somewhat to fit in at the London Stadium with more physical midfielders like Soucek and Edson Alvarez being favoured.
With Lucas Paqueta starting ahead of the base midfield duo, there is little room for the likes of the former Southampton captain to flourish.
This could point towards his departure from East London and would only make more sense if Carlos Soler was to join from PSG before the window closes.
It would be disappointing to lose the 29-year-old so soon into his Hammers career, especially without scoring a trademark free kick.
