The Philadelphia Eagles were dominating throughout the 2024 season. After going 14-3 in the regular season, the success continued as they were winners of Super Bowl 59.
The Eagles rushing attack, led by Saquon Barkley, was the driving force of the offense. The passing attack took a backseat at times, causing some trouble with A.J. Brown. Following the Week 14 win over the Carolina Panthers, Brown said the Eagles’ passing game needs to improve, seemingly throwing a shot at Jalen Hurts.
That caught fans and members of the media by surprise but that didn’t have an effect on the field. Those comments made it appear that Brown and Hurts had problems. The Ole Miss product recently discussed their relationship and stated they had some issues in the past.
On the YouTube show “Million Dollaz Worth of Game”, Brown said, “I’d be lying to tell you we never had any issues. We’re two alphas who want to be the best, and demand greatness from each other and everyone around us. Some reports are true, some aren’t. But me and him are good man. We just wanna be great. And sometimes we bump heads, but that’s normal. And don’t nobody sweat it.. It’s normal. But with the history of this team, with McNabb and T.O, it’s magnified x10.”
A.J. Brown Talks About Relationship With Jalen Hurts
It’s cool to see Brown speak honestly about his relationship with Hurts. From the outside looking in, you could see something was off at times.
Brown and Hurts are competitors who want to win. No matter what, arguments and things are going to happen when players are performing at a highly stressful NFL level.
Even though the 27-year-old was frustrated at times, he is still the No. 1 pass-catcher in the aerial attack. Over 47 games with the Eagles, Brown has generated 261 receptions for 4,031 receiving yards and 25 touchdowns, including three straight seasons with 1,000-plus yards.
He’s the go-to option in the passing game and seeks to be productive every week. That wasn’t the case this year, as he saw 97 targets, his lowest mark since arriving in Philadelphia.
Despite these guys clashing at times, they were able to put things behind them as they secured a Super Bowl title. This duo hopes to continue their dominance in 2025 but fans shouldn’t be concerned if these two guys get into it again. It seems to be a part of their relationship and they’ll hash things out on their own.
