Packers Assistant Leaves for College Coordinator Role
Green Bay Packers coaching assistant Myles White is moving on to a new opportunity in the college ranks. According to ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg, White has accepted a position as the wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator for Syracuse.
White, who played for the Packers before transitioning to coaching, previously worked as a wide receivers coach at Stephen F. Austin (2021) and Miami of Ohio (2022-2023). He spent the 2024 season as a coaching assistant for Green Bay but will now return to college football under Syracuse head coach Fran Brown. White replaces Ross Douglas, who left to join the Oregon Ducks after serving as Syracuse’s passing game coordinator and receivers coach last season.
His departure is part of a larger shift in the Packers’ coaching staff. White was one of three assistants without a specific position in 2024, along with Sean Mannion and Sean Duggan.
Both Mannion and Duggan have since been promoted to on-field roles, with Mannion taking over as quarterbacks coach and Duggan becoming the linebackers coach after Anthony Campanile left for the Jacksonville Jaguars’ defensive coordinator job.
Despite White’s exit, the Packers still have experienced coaches working with their wide receivers. Rhyan Mahaffey, who transitioned from assistant offensive line coach to receivers coach in 2024, will remain in his role. Additionally, Green Bay brought back Luke Getsy as a senior offensive assistant, who previously coached the team’s wide receivers in 2016 and 2017.
