Brandon McManus, a former Broncos kicker, is set to return to Denver — at least for one game.
The longtime Bronco signed to a three-year contract deal with the Green Bay Packers on Tuesday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The Packers are on the Broncos’ home schedule for the coming season.
The contract follows McManus’ impressive 12-game run with the Packers to end the 2024 season, during which he converted 21 of 23 field-goal attempts, including a 20-of-21 streak in the final 11 games of the regular season.
McManus joined the Packers in Week 7 after missing the first six games of the season after being dismissed by the Washington Commanders in the offseason.

Washington fired him after he was sued by two flight attendants who worked on the Jacksonville Jaguars’ team charter during the 2023 season and accused him of sexual assault.
McManus played the 2023 season for the Jaguars, who claimed him off waivers after the Broncos dismissed him in May.
However, the NFL decided not to sanction McManus, citing “insufficient evidence.”
The attorney representing the two women who brought the charges refuted that concept, telling ESPN in September that the NFL “hasn’t yet spoken with our clients, so I’m a bit confused as to why anyone could conclude that at this point.”
The NFL’s decision to clear McManus paved the way for his return, and the Packers brought him on after rookie Brayden Narveson struggled.
McManus instantly restored Green Bay’s kicking fortunes, which had dipped since the team released former CU Buffs great Mason Crosby after the 2022 season.
The 12-year NFL veteran blasted a game-winning 45-yard field goal as time expired in his debut game as a Packer, against the Houston Texans, and has thrived since then.

Meanwhile, the Broncos have had no complaints since moving on from McManus.
Following a kicking competition in training camp between Brett Maher and Elliott Fry, the Broncos parted ways with both and signed Wil Lutz from the New Orleans Saints.
Lutz is seventh among 38 NFL kickers in field-goal percentage over the previous two seasons (minimum of 20 attempts), making 89.7 percent of his attempts. That also makes him the most accurate kicker in Broncos history, having attempted at least 20 field goals.
