EMOTIONAL GOODBYE: Cooper Kupp’s Heartfelt Farewell Message to Rams

Posted on March 13, 2025 by admin

Cooper Kupp was officially released by the Los Angeles Rams on Wednesday, and the star wide receiver is already looking back fondly on his time with the franchise.

The Rams have released Kupp following unsuccessful attempts to trade the former All-Pro wideout. The move, which was not a surprise, will save L.A. roughly $15 million in salary-cap space for 2025.

Shortly after the news was announced, Kupp shared a video on social media recapping his eight seasons with the Rams. He also included a heartfelt farewell message to the city of Los Angeles.

“Eight years of incredible memories.

“We talked often about the Rams being back in L.A. and how we would grow to be something special here. And there was frustration early on around getting the buy in from the people of L.A.

“But we knew at the end of the day, it’s about providing moments. Shared experiences. The things that parents and their children will talk about and remember forever.

“That is what makes the ending of these last eight years so difficult. It’s the ending of something we have enjoyed building with you.

“Thank you for these shared moments. Thank you, L.A., for welcoming my family with open arms and allowing us to grow here.

“Next chapter starts now. Best is yet to come.”

Injuries have piled up for Kupp in recent years. The 31-year-old was limited to just 12 games in each of the past two seasons, but he was still productive when healthy. Kupp had 67 catches for 710 yards and six touchdowns in 2024.

Kupp had a breakout season in 2021 when he led the NFL in receptions (145), receiving yards (1,947) and touchdowns (16). The receptions and yardage rank second all-time for a single season in NFL history.

Although he is not nearly as explosive as he was several years ago, Kupp should draw plenty of interest now that he is a free agent. He is a proven veteran who has a knack for getting open on third down and in the red zone. One AFC team in particular might make a lot of sense for the former NFL Offensive Player of the Year.
