Netflix has officially released *The Underdog*, a powerful new documentary chronicling the life and career of Pittsburgh Steelers Hall of Fame linebacker Jack Lambert. Slated for release on May 5, 2025, the film dives deep into the journey of one of the most feared and iconic defensive players in NFL history.
Known for his fierce intensity, toothless snarl, and unmatched instincts on the field, Lambert became the face of the Steel Curtain defense during the Steelers’ 1970s dynasty. *The Underdog* traces his rise from a lightly recruited college player at Kent State to a four-time Super Bowl champion and Defensive Player of the Year.
The documentary features rare archival footage, personal interviews with former teammates, coaches, and family members, as well as never-before-seen moments from Lambert’s private life. It also explores the challenges he faced off the field, offering a more humanizing look at the enigmatic legend.
