DENVER, CO — One of hockey’s most electrifying and enduring dynasties is skating its way onto the silver screen. Colorado Avalanche President & Governor Josh Kroenke has finalized a $15.7 million deal with Netflix to produce a feature-length documentary film capturing the rise, fall, and resurgence of the Avalanche — one of the NHL’s most celebrated franchises of the modern era.
Titled “Elevation: The Avalanche Dynasty”, the film will explore the team’s origin story in 1995 after relocating from Quebec, their dominance in the late ’90s and early 2000s, and their thrilling 2022 Stanley Cup victory that reignited Avalanche fandom across North America.
📅 The official Netflix global release is set for October 10, 2025, with exclusive early screenings in Denver (October 8) and Los Angeles (October 9).
🎥 Directed by acclaimed sports documentarian Gabe Polsky (Red Army, In Search of Greatness), the production will feature in-depth interviews with Avalanche legends like Joe Sakic, Patrick Roy, Nathan MacKinnon, Cale Makar, and Gabriel Landeskog, as well as never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage of the franchise’s championship moments and culture-defining turning points.
“The Avalanche’s journey is the story of belief, bold moves, and championship mentality,” said Josh Kroenke. “We’re proud to finally bring this saga to life in a way that honors the players, the city, and the fans who made it possible.”
