OFFICIAL: Mitch manner ends transfer rumors with passionate Toronto Maple leafs commitment— I owe everything to the team, and I promise to…

Toronto Maple Leafs star Mitch Marner has officially put an end to months of speculation by signing a new long-term contract extension and reaffirming his commitment to the only NHL team he’s ever called home.

The 27-year-old winger inked a six-year, \$62 million deal with the Leafs on Saturday, avoiding free agency and silencing persistent trade rumors that have followed him since the team’s early playoff exit this spring.

Marner made the announcement in an emotional press conference at the Ford Performance Centre, where he spoke candidly about his love for the city, the fans, and the organization that drafted him fourth overall in 2015.

“I owe everything to this team. They took a chance on a local kid with big dreams, and I’ve never forgotten that,” Marner said, his voice cracking with emotion. “This isn’t just where I play hockey. It’s where I grew up, where my family is, where I want to win. I promise I’ll give everything I’ve got to help bring a Stanley Cup to Toronto.”

The new deal carries an average annual value of \$10.3 million—a modest reduction from his previous \$10.9 million cap hit—and includes a full no-movement clause, a strong signal of Marner’s desire to stay in Toronto long term.

“I want to be here. I want to win *here*,” he added. “People can say whatever they want. But no one wants it more than the guys in that room, and I’ll keep fighting for this team and this city until we get what we came for.”

Leafs GM Brad Treliving praised Marner’s leadership and loyalty, calling the signing a “critical step” in the team’s future. “Mitch is the heart of this franchise. He leads by example, on and off the ice.”

For Leafs Nation, the message was loud and clear: Mitch Marner isn’t going anywhere—and the mission to end Toronto’s Stanley Cup drought is as personal as ever.
