Recent reports have sparked discussions about Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill potentially joining the Las Vegas Raiders.
These rumors gained traction following Hill’s expression of frustration after a season-ending loss to the New York Jets, where he hinted at reassessing his career.
However, Dolphins’ General Manager Chris Grier clarified that Hill has not formally requested a trade.
Financially, trading Hill presents challenges for the Dolphins. If traded before June 1, the team would face a $44 million cap hit with only $15.5 million in savings.
After June 1, the cap hit would be spread over the next two seasons. Few teams currently have the cap space to absorb Hill’s contract, possibly necessitating a pay cut for him to join a Super Bowl contender.
In a related note, during his college recruitment, Hill expressed admiration for Head Coach Pete Carroll, stating, “That’s who I want to go play for.”
However, it’s important to note that Pete Carroll is the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks, not the Las Vegas Raiders.
